Thomas started racing go-karts at age 9 and quickly started winning races and championships. With his father as crew chief, Thomas won both the prestigious Tulsa Shootout and IKF National Championship.

Schinderle then moved into fullsize dirt Modifieds as soon as the local tracks would allow. Thomas and his father again started from scratch in a new division and built a winning team. Thomas eventually started driving for Rollo Brothers Racing in a dirt Late Model and yet again picked up race winning hardware. Schinderle then drove for Texas A&M University in the FSAE World Championship held at New Hampshire International Speedway. Thomas won the award for driving the overall fastest lap time at the international competition.

After graduating from Texas A&M with an engineering degree, Schinderle moved to Detroit to start working as a Ride & Handling Vehicle Performance Engineer for General Motors. Schinderle is excited to take on the fiercely competitive Midwest sprint car scene. Schinderle is learning to setup and drive a completely new kind of race car, but is confident that his past winning driving experience will accelerate the learning curve.
